Refreshed the Motorcycle

Due to various problems on my bike, I haven't been able to ride for approximately 2 months. First problem in the middle of November 2008: Safety expired and I did not pass safety due to fork seals. Second problem: battery was losing it capacity. Hence, I had to purchase fork seals which took awhile to procure due to the Christmas holiday. Since I had to wait for material procurement, so I decided to tackle the increasing trend of oil leaks. I had one stubborn bolt that I finally removed using Kelvin's extractor. The leak was due to the paper gasket not adhering to the flange. I fixed via gasket maker and purchase new "grade 8" fastener. In mid-January 2009, I took my motorcycle to Waiphau for service. The chain was replaced, the fork seals replaced and safety inspection obtained. In regards of the battery, there were no water in the battery, hence, distilled water installed and several charging cycles finally brought the battery up to capacity enough for start up. The final problem was a missing bolt for the sissy bar (with large trunk installed on sissy bar) and rear seat. I purchased and installed a new stainless steel 8M bolt and washers--problem solved. All in all, happy to be riding again in 2009.
